After Monday night's 4-3 win over the Akron Aeros, Thunder RF Edwar Gonzalez talked to me by telephone about the game's highlights, the team's chances in the playoffs, and rehabbing Lance Berkman:
On Adam Warren: "He did pretty good. He reached his pitch count in the 6th, went about 5 2/3...he did a good enough job."
On the bullpen/pitching for the playoffs: "The bullpen has had some trouble the last couple of weeks, haven't been too good. But that's going to happen. And once you get in the playoffs, there's a lot of emotion and you play from that...and it can really carry you. I believe we have what it takes pitching-wise."
On Lance Berkman: "He seems like a really great guy. He was very open to any questions we had about hitting. He has a lot of wisdom from being in the big leagues that long, so it was great that he was open to those questions from any of us."
Sharing playing time with Daniel Brewer: "I understand my role and that's what it's going to be - pinch-hitting, pinch running, coming in and doing what I'm asked when I do play that day. No one likes being on the bench, but I understand. I wish I could play everyday, but I'm ok with it."
