Recently the wonderful Miracle League received the National Consortium for Academics and Sports award for Community Organization. For anyone who may not know, the Miracle League is a baseball league for children and teenagers who have mental and physical disabilities. Miracle League began in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 and now boasts 168 leagues throughout the country. They do incredible work in helping build the self esteem and inner belief system of these children who have a place to play and grow.
Congratulations to all the fantastic people who've made this happen and effected the lives of those kids. For anyone interested, the Miracle League is always looking for volunteer coaches, as well as for many other volunteer positions, so if you'd like to be of help please visit their website. Donating old gloves and equipment is always a great thing too.
