He was Philadelphia. No one who ever wore the uniform was more of a Phillie than Harry Kalas. He loved the city, the fans, and the team, no matter what.
Harry was proud of us, even when we didn't have reason to feel so proud of our team. He believed. Tug said we had to and Harry did. Always.
What will this city be without it's greatest fan, it's true champion? What will the Phillies be without their tenth man?
Harry Kalas is lost to us today, but his spirit moves and lives and breathes through the Phillies and baseball forever. His family loses their father, their husband, their grandfather. We lose our friend and our Phillies fan club president.
Thank you is not enough. But there is little more I can think to say, but to thank him for loving us as Phillies fans with all our faults and believing so deeply in our Fightins.
Harry Kalas, YOU WERE THE MAN.
