While I think the just released poll by the Atlantic City Surf is both timely and includes some fun memories, key player moments could have been included. There were a number of great moments that could have been part of the poll, including Adam Cox almost breaking the franchise record for strikeouts, Brad Thoma's walk off home run against the tough Worcester Tornadoes, as well as Josh Burrus three a.m. walk off single in the playoffs.
I agree that Cecil Fielder overall was memorable for the fans. I had many conversations with fans who were thrilled to meet the former Yankee - I recall a Red Sox devotee that I talked with in the stands in Sussex who said he was at the game just to meet Cecil. A Red Sox fan?! Yup. Fielder is a huge draw and was incredibly important to the club's success.
The option "Making the Post-Season" certainly encompasses a lot of things; the offense and pitching had so many top moments collectively so that would seem to be the clearest top moment. SS Anthony Granato, LF Joe Burke, and starting pitchers/coaches Brian Rodaway and J.C. Huguet were leaders by example on the field.
